The University adopts a structured approach to research development through a clearly defined implementation framework. Each college identifies a Main Research Theme guiding all research activities.
Each college selects a Main Research Theme for a fixed period.
Staff in related fields form Research Clusters within programmes.
Each cluster works on a derived sub-theme from the college’s main theme.
Clusters mature into Research Centres of Excellence (RCOEs).
Each RCOE is led by a senior academic staff member responsible for its progress and activities.
Managed by the Director of Research and Postgraduate Studies, the URO is responsible for:
Daily administration of university-level research activities.
Coordinating activities of all RCOEs.
Processing funding applications and research permits.
Maintaining relationships with external partners and sponsors.
Organizing research committee meetings.
Overseeing postgraduate and professional development courses.
