Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE)

Key Knowledge and Skills to be Acquired:

Circuit Theory:Understanding how electrical circuits behave, including resistors, capacitors, inductors, and more.

Signal Processing:Analyzing and manipulating electrical signals, which are fundamental to communication and control systems.

Digital Electronics:Learning about logic gates, microprocessors, and digital circuit design.

Electromagnetism:Studying electric and magnetic fields, and their interactions, which are crucial for understanding how electrical devices work.

Telecommunications:Working with communication systems, including wireless and wired networks.

Control Systems:Designing and implementing systems that control the behavior of other systems, such as robots or industrial processes

Power Electronics:Studying the control and conversion of electrical power using semiconductor devices.

Requirements

Two principal passes in the following subjects: Advanced Mathematics, Physics, combined Physics-Chemistry or Electricity for foreign applicants. An applicant without a principal pass in Advanced Mathematics and Physics must have a minimum of “C grade at O-Level.

Diploma or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Communication System Technology, Auto Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Science and Information Technology, Biomedical Equipment Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, Communication System Technology, Biotechnology, Electrical and Biomedical Engineering, Automobile, Transport, Air Craft Maintenance, with an average of “B’’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0. OR Foundation Programme of the OUT with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in science cluster passing Mathematics and Physics.

Course description

Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) is a field that deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. It encompasses the design, development, and testing of electrical and electronic devices and systems, including power generation, transmission, and distribution, as well as the integration of electronic components into larger systems. EEE engineers work on a wide range of technologies, from power systems and electronic circuits to communication networks and computer systems.
